Vietnamese Zither

Đàn tranh is a traditional Vietnamese zither that I have had the opportunity to learn and explore alongside my experience with Western music.

Zither performance: Trống Cơm — In this video, I perform “Trống Cơm” & “Một vòng Việt Nam”, a familiar Vietnamese folk song. Learning this piece introduced me to the distinctive rhythms and sounds of traditional Vietnamese music.

Zither performance: Một Vòng Việt Nam — I also perform “Một Vòng Việt Nam” a song that celebrates the beauty, the landscapes, and the people of Vietnam. Through learning and performing these pieces, I have found a meaningful way to connect with Vietnamese musical traditions and appreciate the cultural stories behind them.
